What Are Quilters Blogging About Today?

Interesting design, especially the quilting … simple, but very effective.

In the second design the quilting motif in the first is an applique design!

Love the design above, and I am interested in what it might look like with a colour update, but at this time of the year I am not getting a lot of play time at the computer. Something to add to the list of things to do in 2023.

Second designis also interesting, and would like time to play with the contrast as well as the colouring.

Love the combination of the applique and pieced blocks and the quilting motifs.

The first design today looks like 9 applique blocks set on point with quilted sashing, but it is 9 applique blocks in a 5×5 straight setting with alternate blocks quilted.

I have just worked out how to stop the quilting designs I add to designs from smudging like the one above … don’t use broken lines, use a fine solid line! … but I think I would still use the broken lines when printing pattern sheets.

Well, I thought I had sorted it out!

Back to the drawing board!

Not a lot of applique, no pieced blocks, but the quilting fills in the spaces well.

Pieced and applique blocks … and I love the simple quilting.

I think the first one at least, lives up to the pretty part of the title.

Interesting sashing, except that it is not really sashing, it is part of the blocks.

I think all three designs are pretty!

What is not to like?

There are pieces, patches and quilting lines.

That is all I ask of a virtual quilt.
